Who We Are
Our journey in the automotive industry began 22 years ago with the founding of JL Mechanical. However, we found that the tyre side of the business was growing exponentially to the point where we decided to bring in a tyre specialist to handle this aspect of our operations. In 2008, we established Nelson Bay Tyres as a separate entity to JL Mechanical and have been providing top-quality service ever since.

My Kia Rio was making a strange noise when I drove over a bumpy road. I took it to your workshop last Tuesday. I am always apprehensive when I go to a mechanical repair shop that I have never been to before because I do not know the people. I do not know if they are competent I do not know if they are efficient I do not know if they are accurate and honest in their pricing. I was surprised and impressed. Firstly I was treated as a human being, which is not common these days. More and more consumers are treated as a number. Secondly I was able to have a conversation with the mechanic ,who explained his diagnosis of the problem and suggested a possible remedy. He put the car on the hoist and showed me the problem and fixed a loose strut. What is more I was charged a minimal amount. All in all having my car repaired was a pleasant experience not at all like going to the Dentist where it is impossible to have a conversation, the procedure is often painful and the cost is outrageous. I have been taking my car to Max for the past five years for servicing and I will continue to come to you in the future.
